Age: 19
Dean is the first in his family to go to university. Aimhigher supported him at school with revision and learning skills. He decided to go to university to further his involvement with sport and also to “gain more independence and experience new things”.
Dean enjoys being in Brighton as it has such a good nightlife and the university offers a lot of clubs and societies. At the University of Brighton, Dean feels that “the friends you make and the social side is an experience you never forget”.
Dean has also enjoyed taking part in dissertations for sport and although he is on campus each week, his timetable is set so that he does have days when he only has lectures for an hour or two.
When he graduates, Dean hopes to do a PGCE in PE Teaching or Maths. He is also looking into other sports careers but hopes to go travelling as well.
