Aimhigher Students: Their Stories
Several students have shared their experiences of participating in Aimhigher Sussex and tell us how it helped them get into Higher Education.
Marie

Marie is studying a degree in Medicine at the University of Edinburgh where she will graduate as a doctor.
Luke

Luke is studying for a BSc in Environmental Conservation at Leeds University. Eventually he’d like to like to work abroad to protect wildlife and conserve the rainforests.
Emily

Emily is studying for a BA degree in English at the University of Cambridge. After graduation she'd like to go onto further study in higher education.
Dean

Dean is studying for a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science at Brighton University. When he graduates he’d like to teach PE or Maths.
Heidi

Heidi is studying for a BA (Hons) in Photography at Brighton University. When she graduates she’d like to study for her Masters in the USA.
Patrik

Patrik is studying Medicine at University College London (UCL). When he graduates and becomes a doctor he’d like to specialise in International Health.
Kimberley

Kimberley is currently studying Law at the University of Sussex. When she graduates she’d like to become a Solicitor.
Suzanne

Suzanne is studying for a BA in English at the University of Leicester. When she graduates she’d like to become a teacher at a FE college.
Flexible Learning: Student Stories
Caren

Caren is studying modules with the Open University, which means she can study at home. When she gets her degree she’d like to go into teaching.
Jim

Jim is currently studying for a Foundation Degree in Broadcast Media at UCH (University Centre Hastings).
Laroshi

Laroshi is in her 2nd year of a Travel and Tourism Management degree at the University of Brighton. She’s particularly interested in sustainable tourism.
Sue & Debbie

Sue and Debbie are mature students studying part-time for Foundation Degrees in Management. Their courses are being funded by their employers – West Sussex County Council.
