Chris Derbyshire heads the team (based at University of Chichester) with responsibilities for intervention with schools and 6th forms in West Sussex. In addition to core activities there are also several project areas with a work-based learning content, focus on parents and carers, and attainment in English and Maths. In addition Chris manages the Aimhigher Sport and Leisure Curriculum Network for Sussex.

Chris has a BA in Contemporary History. He wanted to be an RAF pilot when he was younger. He’s scared of water, looking like a muppet and letting people down. He loves the movies Beetlejuice and The Shining and the books 1984, Barnaby Rudge and whatever he’s reading right now. His favourite food is blackberry crumble and any other traditional good pud! He feels his greatest achievement is being relatively happy. He’d love to spend every day cycling, learning, spending time with family and friends and drinking good coffee. He doesn’t have great memories of school or college but loved uni and the friends and opportunities it’s given him. He loves his job because it gives him a chance to give something back to society.
