Andrea Dumbrell is Education Liaison Outreach Officer. She works with adults aged 19-30, and also runs activities across Sussex for the parents and carers of Aimhigher students.

Andrea has a degree in Interdisciplinary History with an MA and Mphil in International Relations. She wanted to be a psychiatrist when she was younger. She’s scared of boredom and being trapped, loves the movie Shawshank Redemption and the books Juggling and City of Darkness, City of Light. Her favourite foods are chocolate and mayonnaise but not eaten together! She feels her greatest achievements are bringing up two daughters who can think for themselves, and aren’t afraid to share their opinions with others, and also making a list of 40 things to do in her forties and being over half way through (the list that is!). Her favourite school memory is visiting communist Russia in Year 12. She loves her job because it gives people the opportunity to talk to each other about higher education, and concerns they have and to have their voices heard.
